Pipe Layer
Seeking pipe layer with experience working on civil construction projects and installing underground utilities including sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and waterlines.
Job Duties
Join various sizes and types of conduit (PVC, ductile iron, HDPE, RCP, clay)
Set up and operate pipe lasers, rotating lasers, transits, and levels
Establish and maintain alignment and grade
Locate underground utilities
Dewatering of pipeline trenches
Operate small powered equipment including cut off saws, tampers, pumps, drills, etc.
Use hand signals to communicate with equipment operators
Qualifications/Requirements
Member of Laborer’s International Union of America or willingness to join
Compliance with drug free workplace policy
Understanding of trench safety and proper shoring and rigging techniques
High level of physical fitness – strength, endurance, coordination, vision, and depth perception
Comfortable working in confined spaces
Ability to read blueprints
Basic mathematic skills
Reliable transportation
Working Conditions
Travel throughout Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania
Typical work hours 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Superintendent/Foreman
Seeking construction superintendent with experience working on heavy civil and underground utility construction projects, including major sanitary sewer, stormwater, and water projects.
Duties
Manage day to day operations of underground utility and highway construction projects
Coordinate and supervise field labor including operators, laborers, truck drivers, and subcontractors
Schedule delivery of materials and equipment
Communicate with field engineers and inspectors
Track and document project progress
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of and experience working with sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and waterlines
Ability to read plans and perform intermediate mathematical calculations
Experience working with lasers, transits, and GPS systems for project layout and design
Skills
Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to strategize and solve complex problems
Interpersonal skills – communication, conflict mitigation
Job Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience working on underground utility construction projects
High school diploma/GED
Ability to travel throughout Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania
Compliance with drug free workplace policy
